Plausible vs VibeMetrics
Last updated Nov 3, 2026
Both are simple, readable analytics. Plausible is a mature, open-source tool for website traffic with no cookies. VibeMetrics focuses on one question for apps built with AI builders: which channel brings signups and paying customers.
Where Plausible shines
- A clean, fast dashboard and a very small script.
- No cookies and no persistent identifiers: Plausible says no cookie banner is required.
- Made and hosted in the EU, and open source.
- Goals, custom events, funnels and user journeys, email reports, and imports from Google Analytics.
- Years of polish and a large community.
Revenue: the main difference
Plausible tracks revenue as custom events with an amount: your site sends a Purchase event, with the price, when the buyer is back on your page. It's included on the Business plan. Because Plausible doesn't recognise returning visitors, the purchase is credited to the source of the same visit.
Plausible's docs note that payment provider webhooks can't be linked to the visit that led to the payment. So a person who finds you on Reddit on Monday and pays on Thursday is credited to Thursday's visit, and later subscription renewals aren't tied to a source.
VibeMetrics connects to your Stripe account instead. Every payment, renewal and refund arrives from Stripe and is linked to the person's first visit (or their last one, if you prefer), across days in standard mode. Signups come from one more prompt.
Side by side
| Plausible | VibeMetrics | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Add a script (plugins for some platforms) | One prompt pasted into your builder |
| Revenue | Business plan; events with an amount, sent from your site | Yes: connect Stripe; each payment, renewal and refund is linked to where the person first came from |
| Signups | As goals or custom events you set up | Yes: one more prompt (Supabase), plus an optional server-side backup |
| Recognises returning visitors | No (no persistent identifiers) | Yes: a visitor ID kept up to a year (standard mode), or one day (cookieless mode) |
| Cookies | None | None; standard mode keeps an ID in the browser's storage |
| Price at 10k pageviews | $9/month (1 site), $14 (3 sites), $19 (10 sites, with revenue) | $8 a month for 3 apps at 10K pageviews, revenue included; $18 a month for 10 apps |

| Data history | No retention limit | 3 to 5 years, by plan |
Which one fits
- Choose Plausible for privacy-first traffic analytics of a website or blog, no consent questions, EU hosting, or an open-source tool you can host yourself.
- Choose VibeMetrics if you built your app with Lovable, Bolt, Replit or v0, sell with Stripe, and want to know which posts and channels bring paying customers, set up with prompts.
A note on privacy: VibeMetrics' standard mode keeps a random ID in the visitor's browser so a Monday visit and a Thursday payment can be linked; in the EU that may need your visitors' consent. Cookieless mode stores nothing, like Plausible, and links visits within one day.
